School Meals and Drinks

Drink

We encourage all children to bring in a water bottle to make it easy for them to access water throughout the day. Water and cups are available for children who don't have their own water bottle.

Children under 5 are entitled to free milk each day, funded by a government scheme. Once your child is 5 years old, you can opt to buy milk from our online provider to be delivered to school each day if you wish.

Food

Our school meals are cooked on site and we offer three meal options each day to include a daily vegetarian option. The cost of a school lunch is £2.60 per meal. Please see below for a downloadable menu.

You will be Invoiced through School Spider for each meal provided for your child.  A notification will be sent via the app each time an invoice is added to enable payment to be made.

School meals for all children in YR, Y1 and Y2 are FREE, subsidised by a grant to schools from the government. School meals are also free for some other children, for example, if parents are in receipt of benefits. Please contact the school office to find out more. You can decide whether to take school meals on a daily basis.

Our cook will be happy to provide bespoke menus for children who have allergies or a medical condition. Please contact the school office to make an appointment, if this is something you require.

You may prefer for your child to have a packed lunch, which you provide. We are a certified healthy school, so we request that no sweets are sent in lunchboxes, only healthy snacks and no fizzy or sugary drinks. Water is available all day both in class and at the lunch tables.

We are a nut-free school as we have a child on site with a severe allergy, so please do not send any food in packed lunches which contains nuts.

Children are allowed to bring in fruit to eat at break time. Free fruit is provided for YR, Y1 and Y2, as part of the Free Fruit for Schools Scheme.

Free School Meals

The Government is giving money to schools to help children from lower income families; children who have been adopted from care; and children from families of armed service personnel, do their very best. This funding is called the ‘Pupil Premium’.

PLEASE REGISTER TO MAKE SURE THE SCHOOL DOES NOT MISS OUT ON THIS EXTRA FUNDING

The Pupil Premium is not used to pay for school meals. Schools use the funding to improve the progress and attainment of pupils who are eligible. You will find more information about how we use our Pupil Premium funding on our Pupil Premium website page here.

No one will know you have registered, and it will not affect any other benefits you are claiming. Mrs Haycocks or Mrs Hughes in the office will be happy to help you with your application. They can do this privately, away from the school office or by telephone or email if this would be more convenient.

You can apply online here or ask at the office for an application form.
