Mrs Eleanor Rawsthorne

My name is Mrs Rawsthorne and I am the EYFS Lead overseeing Nursery, Reception and more recently Year One. I have a passion for the Early Years curriculum and love setting up a creative and engaging classroom linked to the childrens interests, cultural celebrations and class themes. The Early Years is a happy, nurturing and vibrant environment where we aim to build the foundations for children to ensure they have a smooth transition into school and the wider world. Our stimulating environments allows the children to explore the world around them, learn life skills and develop a love of learning. We provide both adult led and child initiated activities where the children can explore their interest in the moment. Planning in the moment allows the children to become confident and unique individuals. In our Early Years we recognise that no children are the same and we pride on celebrating our similarities and differences. More recently our Reception class has mixed with Year One in our bigger demountable classroom. The Reception children are engaging well with both provision and formal learning and the Year Ones are really helping them socially, emotionally and physically. This is also helping Reception transition ready for the summer as they are overseeing Year One learning and expectations. Both year groups are learning and engaging from each other which is lovely to see. We are all very proud of our children, their uniqness, learning and development.
