Our Week - W/C 9th January 2023

A fantastic first full wee back to school Lawley Class, Mrs Dykes and I have particularly been impressed with the children's attitudes to learning. They have all been coming into school 'ready to learn'.

In phonics this week we are continuing to work through phase 3 phonics for Reception and phase 5 for Year One. The children have had opportunities in provision to consolidate learn sounds and have fun blending and reading.

In maths we have been looking at numbers to 20 for both year groups. The children have also been introduced to the concept of 'tens and ones' and partitioning numbers. The children practically enjoyed making numbers to 20 using the parts 'tens and ones'.

In science we have been busy looking at 'materials' and their properties. The children had to practically match the material of objects to the correct material and then Year One were challenged to write some properties of each material.

We have been looking at 'Judaism' in R.E and this week we have looked at the key symbols and morals of the Judaism religion.

What a super jam-packed week!

Well done Lawley Class.

Mrs Greenway and Mrs Dykes.
