Our Week W/C - 31st January

On Friday children in Reception along with class 2 had the most amazing time at Chester Zoo. We saw some wonderful animals and discussed their habitats. The children saw lots of animals including our favourites which were the chimpanzees, rhinos, elephants and giraffes. We were so lucky to see these animals up close. We were even lucky enough to see two jaguars up close. The chimpanzees were particularly cheeky at the zoo and even knocked on the windows to try and scare us!!

It has been lovely watching the children learn about different animals, their habitats and animal facts. This week alongside our 'Crocodile Creek' story, the children will be writing a letter to Chester Zoo to thank them for our fantastic visit. They will also be continuing to develop their sentences in literacy.

In maths this week we will continue to develop our number formations and the children will be focusing on 'one more and one less' in maths with the help of our jumping frog puppet 'Freddie'.

In R.E we will be continuing to look at The Chinese New Year Festival and will be making laterns based on The Story of Niam.

Well done as always Reception.
