Our Week - W/C - 24th January 2022

This week we are having a revision week in reception to embed the learning we have already completed. This week we are focusing on recapping the phase 3 sounds 'ai, ee, igh, oa, ur, ar, er and ow'. The children have enjoyed playing on the Phonics Play games to help with their phonics recognition and to develop their segmenting and blending.

In maths we are recapping numbers to 20. The children will be practising and ordering the numbers to 20 independently this week and will have a go at representing numbers with the counters as high as they can go.

In R.E this week we have continued to look at Chinese New Year, focusing on the wishing tree tradition. On Monday the children wrote their own wishes for the future and we will be hanging these wishes out on our own wishing tree in the Forest School area.

On Friday we are going on our topic trip to Chester Zoo with Class 2. The children are so excited (as am I). It has been a topic of conversation in the classroom and the children have told us about all the animals they wish to see.  Look out for our Chester Zoo photos in next weeks write up!!
