Our Week - 28th March 2022

We have already started off the week full of energy and enthusiasm. Our classroom this week is full of lots of lovely Easter Provision linked to the childrens next steps in phonics and maths. The children were so engrossed in their construction themed tuff tray which was set up by them as this was their key interest last week.Today in R.E we talked about why Easter is an important time of year for Christians, we then went on to look at symbols of Easter such as; a cross, chicks, oval shaped eggs etc. After this the children enjoyed a cooking session making Easter Nest Cakes. We discussed the ingredients needed to make our cakes and then we linked this to maths weighing and counting out our ingredients The children enjoyed this activity and it was lovely to see how excited they were with their finished products!

On Friday we had the most fantastic morning for our 'Pyjama Day'. The children really enjoyed learning about the importance of brushing their teeth. We talked about sugary foods and how they cause plaque on your teeth. We also talked about how we can keep our teeth healthy and we discussed visiting the dentist too. The children engaged brilliantly and enjoyed the 'brushing teeth' provision we set up. The children all participated in a 2 minute brushing teeth session too.

Fantastic week Reception
