Ercall W/C 13th November

Our current pathways to write literacy topic is 'The three little pigs'. In our provision this week we have been exploring colour and texture through brick, straw and bark rubbings. Our children seemed to really enjoy painting with straw too! We have created a construction site within nursery for the children to build their own houses using boxes, straw, foam bricks and sticks- Everyone wore a hard hat and a hi-visability jacket- Super team work Ercall!

For remembrance day we made red 'poppy' playdough with the children and scented it with ginger. We have also been developing our fine motor skills whilst threading laces through poppies. We are looking forward to the church service on Thursday to further develop our knowledge and understanding of Remembrance.

We have been celebrating Diwali, the festival of light, through pattern craft activities and mark-making in glitter.

During our phonics sessions we have been learning objects which begin with the sound 'a' such as ant, apple, astronaut'. The children have been blending words from the box such as: 's-o-ck, a-n-t, t-a-p, p-i-g'.

On Friday we will be raising money for Children in Need. Throughout the week we have been teaching the children about Pudsey bear and completing activities to raise awareness.

Well done Ercall, another super week!
