A warm welcome from all of us at Moreton Say CE Primary School.
I am proud to be the headteacher at Moreton Say CE Primary School. I welcome this opportunity to introduce you to our school. As you navigate our website maybe you will see our children learning through our creative curriculum, taught by energetic and committed staff and further supported in their learning by governors, parents and volunteers who give up their free time to help us.
We recognise that being entrusted with the education of your child is an enormous privilege and responsibility, which is never taken for granted. We thank parents for their trust in us and their partnership with us.
Our school is a lively and caring community, built on warm relationships. Our success lies in our dedication to providing an exciting and engaging curriculum and in really knowing every learner, building relationships that enable children to take risks and do their best in a safe and happy environment.
We lead by example, striving for excellence and encouraging our pupils to do the same. Primary school is where children begin to discover who they are, what they like doing and what path they might take in the future. We believe in the power of ‘YET’, encouraging children to persevere until they achieve their goal.
Being a small school enables us to nurture each child as an individual. Parents sometimes ask how we manage to teach in mixed-age classes. In fact, being a small school brings particular advantages. We can offer a family-feel and a personalised education. We do not view children as belonging to a particular year group, but we see them each as an individual learners.
We want to support children in becoming independent, confident, committed and responsible members of the school and wider global community. Our school curriculum includes ‘Our Place in the World’ where we encourage children to think about the wider world through news article, environmental education and through discussion forums including School Council.
Respect is one of our core values; this includes respect for our world and for each other. We treat children with respect and expect them to treat us and each other in the same way. We expect high standards of behaviour and this means pupils enjoy being at school and behave well.
We welcome visits to the school. We hope this website has given you a flavour of what we are about but there is nothing like seeing for yourself. Come and spend some time with us, see our school in action and experience for yourself our caring, family atmosphere.
As parents, you play an important role in the education of your child. We hope you chose us; we look forward to enjoying a happy and rewarding partnership with your family.
