A warm welcome from all of us at Moreton Say CE Primary School.
I am proud to be the headteacher at Moreton Say CE Primary School. I welcome this opportunity to introduce you to our school.
We recognise that being entrusted with the education of your child is an enormous privilege and responsibility, which is never taken for granted. We thank parents for their trust in us and their partnership with us.
Our school is a lively and caring community, built on warm relationships. Our success lies in our dedication to providing an exciting and engaging curriculum and in really knowing every learner, building relationships that enable children to take risks and do their best in a safe and happy environment.
We lead by example, striving for excellence and encouraging our pupils to do the same. Primary school is where children begin to discover who they are, what they like doing and what path they might take in the future. We believe in the power of ‘YET’, encouraging children to persevere until they achieve their goal.
Being a small school enables us to nurture each child as an individual. Parents sometimes ask how we manage to teach in mixed-age classes. In fact, being a small school brings particular advantages. We can offer a family-feel and a personalised education.
We want to support children in becoming independent, confident, committed and responsible members of the school and wider global community. Our school curriculum includes ‘Our Place in the World’ where we encourage children to think about the wider world through news article, environmental education and through discussion forums.
We celebrate our Christian Values each month building an ethical vocabulary and a skill set to help us make the best of all opportunities in life, learning how to be the best we can be - to be a good citizen. Respect is one of our core values; this includes respect for our world and for each other. We treat children with respect and expect them to treat us and each other in the same way. We expect high standards of behaviour and this means pupils enjoy being at school and behave well.
The School has a dedicated team that works hard to reach high standards in everything we do and this is further embedded through our successful relationships with parents/carers and the local community. We are fortunate to be supported by a large and well-informed governing board and our PA is active throughout the year, raising valuable funds for the School.
