This Half Term’s Value: Compassion

Ephesians 4.32- 'Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ has also forgiven you.'

Welcome to our School

Executive Headteacher's welcome to Moreton Say Church of England Primary School and Nursery

I am enormously proud of our school and the individuals who make it such a warm and welcoming place to learn. Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make and so it is vitally important to us that we 'get it right'. I therefore always urge prospective parents, be it with a view to joining us in our wonderful Ercall Nursery Class or  entering the main school, to visit us in person where you will see, first hand, our vibrant, nurturing and engaging learning environment and experience first-hand why Moreton Say school is such as fabulous place to learn. We are a school which is ambitious and aims high academically whilst teaching all those within to act with love and compassion always and to demonstrate respect to all.

Our Victorian school building, dating back to 1871, and newer school building, are situated in the beautiful rural setting of Moreton Say, near Market Drayton, Shropshire. Set within large grounds; grounds which include access to our own extensive on-site forest, means all children learn and explore both inside and outside the classroom from the minute they join us! Internally our school facilitates learning through the provision of stimulating classroom environments which include access for all our pupils to a range of ICT and a school library. We are extremely proud of our status as a Church of England Primary School and of our links with the Diocese of Lichfield and local Church St. Margaret's of Antioch which dates back to the 12th Century.

We recognise that Primary School is the place where our children first engage with their learning and this in turn can grow into a lifelong love of learning - and this is indeed our aim! Our engaging and context driven Curriculum is our strength here at Moreton Say. It ensures our pupils secure understanding progressively throughout their time here; building a bank of knowledge and skills as they journey through their education and have regular opportunities to revisit their learning; connecting learning, ideas and concepts. Our curriculum promotes our children to question, demonstrate curiosity and make connections with their wider experiences; equipping them with skills which will serve them well both now and into adulthood.

The values which underpin all elements of our day-to-day conduct and that we hold close to our hearts ensure that each and every day we aspire to be the best versions of ourselves that we can be; to be 'Ready for learning, Respectful and Safe'. This simple message ensures that we, as individuals, demonstrate the characteristics as set out in our school vision and of those as demonstrated by the 'Good Samaritan'; our school's guiding parable.

Through these means we aspire and support all within our community to become global citizens, courageous advocates for all and people of wisdom and integrity.

We look forward to warmly welcoming you to our school.
